MY JOURNEY
From overwhelm to alignment
In my late twenties, my husband and I decided we wanted to start a family. Wanting to be proactive, I researched how to optimize my diet and lifestyle, and ensured I was fairly active by walking daily, practicing yoga several times a week, and running. Feeling - and outwardly appearing - healthy, I assumed falling pregnant would be effortless.

It was anything but.
After a year of trying to conceive, amidst the chaos and uncertainty of the COVID pandemic, we sought help.
What followed was a complex, years-long journey that eventually led to private fertility treatment, specifically ICSI (a form of IVF), navigating various protocols over two exhausting years.

During this time, I threw myself into doing everything "right."
I tried various supplements, saw the best specialists, listened to every podcast, read all the research, and tried desperately to manage my stress. While I worked with some brilliant professionals, the sheer volume of information coming at me was overwhelming. My anxiety levels were off the charts, and I felt deeply alone.

Although I had been passionate about health since my early twenties, I also carried a long history of self-soothing coping strategies. Since childhood, I had
unconsciously relied on these patterns to navigate anxiety and big emotions I didn't yet have the capacity to be present with or to process.

Under the weight of intense fertility stress, my anxiety spiralled, and I relied heavily on those old protective and comforting habits. My primary go-to coping mechanisms were comfort eating (daily high-sugar, carb-heavy treats) and distraction (hours of mindless doom-scrolling and television to numb out).

While these patterns offered temporary relief, they took a heavy toll
Gut health & hormones
Ultra-processed foods disrupted my gut health, threw my hormones out of balance which impacted my fertility, and kept me on an exhausting blood sugar rollercoaster
Nervous system & sleep
Hours of sedentary screen time drained my energy, disrupted my sleep, and kept my body trapped in chronic stress, which also impacted my ability to conceive
Mind & emotions
Knowing what was healthy but doing the opposite created constant internal friction, guilt, shame, frustration and a loss of trust in myself
Many of my daily actions were completely out of alignment with what I wanted for my life, not from a lack of knowledge, but because my protective coping strategies were working against me.
Ultimately, after three full rounds (and one attempted round) of treatment, and with other factors at play, we made the heartbreaking decision to stop fertility care.
A NEW CHAPTER & THE MISSING PIECE
Closing that chapter left me needing a meaningful shift.
Wanting to channel my energy into something transformative, I retrained as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. Shortly after qualifying, my husband and I decided to leave London for the countryside, settling in Bath. I left my beloved career as a paediatric Occupational Therapist and took time off to adjust to our new life.
Not long after moving, at age 36, I began experiencing early perimenopause symptoms (though in hindsight, they had subtly started a year earlier). My anxiety escalated significantly, and sleep became almost impossible.

I tried various approaches to support my hormones and regulate my nervous system, eventually starting HRT.
But to address the deep anxiety, I turned to Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). I fell in love with the tool so much that I decided to train as a practitioner, initially for my own healing, but soon realizing how powerful it would be when combined with health coaching.
Through EFT, I finally understood where my self-soothing and protective strategies originated. It gave me the tools to process root emotions, heal underlying subconscious patterns, and gently bring my daily habits into better alignment with my health goals.
Why I do this work
My passion for supporting women through health changes comes directly from my own lived experience.
When I was struggling most, all I wanted was for someone to take my hand. Someone to help me understand why making changes felt so hard, cut through the wellness noise, reduce my overwhelm, support me to resolve the subconscious patterns sabotaging my progress, and guide me toward sustainable, gentle, and nurturing habits.

While I didn't find that person back then, I like to think that I’ve become her. For anyone reading this and considering working with me, I would be honoured to provide you with the space and support to process and find your way through the challenges you’re experiencing.
YOU DON'T NEED TO DO IT ALONE.
